Saw it tonight with a live musical accompaniment...

Great experience. It was my third time seeing the film, but the first time that I'd seen it or any other silent film on a silver screen. The theater actually managed to sell out. The orchestra did a really good job too. They even had a vocalist on hand for the Christine and Carlotta's musical numbers.

Where did you see it?

At a local theater that shows classic movies. This was their first silent film.

You lucky dog, you! :-) That'd be my first choice of so many silent movies I definitely want to see on a big theater screen with either theater organ or orchestral accompaniment.

With live musical accompaniment is really the best way to see these films. I haven't seen The Phantom of the Opera that way, although I have seen A Christmas Carol and a Laurel and Hardy film with live organ music.

I was fortunate enough to experience the same last night here in Chattanooga Tennessee. The theater still has the original organ dating all the way back to 1925. There was no vocal accompaniment though. I am hoping they will do more films like this in the future.

That would be so amazing. I hope to see this with a live orchestra someday
