Underrated!
I just watched this, there was a pretty good copy on Internet Archive, it has the best video quality I've seen of the film but I hated the soundtrack that was used. The different music used for different scenes were so random and inappropriate I thought. It could be so distracting at times unfortunately for such a wonderful film. In fact I want to download the soundtrack of another version and splice it with this one. But I'm not sure how long that would take or if it would be too complicated!
But aside from the atrocious soundtrack, this was a very very good film. I highly recommend this for any Valentino or silent film fan. Halfway during the seduction scene, I found this film was very effective in misleading me, and it happened 2x, lol! Valentino as usual was excellent, charismatic and intense in this role. Despite the many issues the production of the film encountered, it all came out well. I'll be honest though, I didn't find Naldi to be as attractive as she was made out to be. She was clearly very vampy but just not as alluring as was implied. But none of that matters as Valentino is such an enigmatic highlight, a feast to behold and sympathetic despite his womanizing ways.
