I loved the end of this movie when Buster's character was copying everything the man in the movie was doing, and then he sees the man in the movie holding two babies he presumably had with the woman in the movie. Buster's deadpan look after seeing this is just great. A perfect ending to this short film.
In addition to being funny, the ending is also an interesting comment on the importance of film on our mating habits, and how we learn the "rules", something now even more relevant than in 1924. Up to the point where the movies stop explaining.
You can't let go and you can't hold on You can't go back and you can't stand still
It's a cute ending, and I'm glad he got the girl and won the day, but one thing I didn't get, when he was imagining having babies, weren't they both wearing glasses? that's something you'd expect in a Harold Lloyd film but not Buster Keaton.
A splendid scene, and made me remember an interview with a guy (some actor?) who said he learned everything like how to kiss a girl from the movies. Made me wonder what people did before movies!
