Best DVD transfer

Does anybody have an opinion on the best DVD version to buy? as there are a few out there. Any region

The best version I have seen, and own is the one released by Kino on dvd with two soundtracks to choose from.

The kino version is about 20 minutes longer than any other one.

black and white movies were better

Once I've seen this movie on TV with a soundtrack that featured a voice (whispering "Caligari, Caligari" over and over). I think this was in the scene where the name "Caligari" appears all around Francis on screen.

Does one of the versions on that DVD have this particular soundtrack? I've always thought it was a very fitting one.

Eureka Video has produced what I think must be the most complete version available today for region 2: 72 minutes against previous versions I saw before of 50 and 66 minutes. It is the original tinted format and (I believe) the original musical score. And it comes with an excellent audio commentary, and publicity and arty stills. I definitely recommend it.
