The Couch

What is the full story on what happened with J.D. Vance and his couch that he apparently had sex with a couch?

reply

It's baloney. It started out as a fake anecdote from that book of his and it just took off. I think it was originally on 'X' or TikTok.

I haven't seen any evidence to disprove it. All I've seen is repeated references to him having sex with a couch.

Besides, uses fake stories all the time anyway, even when he knows they're fake. Such as the whole Haitian immigrants story which was disproven, and there was no evidence of whatsoever. Yet he continues his attempt to use the story to his advantage. Never really condemning it.

So , to quote Greg Gutfield , "If they aren't going to use facts, we'll play with the fiction!"
The Democrats are playing the same game the Republicans are, beating them at their own game.

It doesn't matter whether he had sex with a couch or not. The rumor is already out there. Just like the Haitian story. Doesn't matter that it's not true: The rumor is already out.

It's typical American political tactics: Dirty tricks. In the Nixon era, they called it 'ratfucking'. All the Democrats are trying to do is defeat the other guy, and so are the Republicans.

They know it doesnt matter if anything they say is true, it's all about spreading rumors, confusion, gaslighting the voters en mass, and just generally lying. That's the main thing: Invented stories. JD's couch and Springfield are both invented stories, but it doesn't matter anymore. That's the game both parties are playing. Use as many dirty tricks as possible and go as low as you can go. Furthermore, the Democrats SHOULD use dirty tricks because that's exactly what the other side is doing at this point.

The original post claimed he admitted to it on pages 179-181 of Hilbilly Elegy. You could easily find a pdf of it and read it for yourself. It's a whopping 2 pages.

If that is too much for you, than you can check the various fact checker site that have already disproven it, or the author of the post himself, that has admitted that it was just a joke.

It doesn't MATTER that it's not TRUE! Like the Haitian immigrants story = MADE UP. Disproven, again and again. Yet the far right are still continuing to promote it . KNOWING IT'S FAKE.

They are PUSHING A FAKE STORY THEY KNOW IS FAKE. KNOWINGLY.

So it doesn't matter whether JD did or didn't do it.
It's already in the "Did he or didn't he" category. Schrodinger's Couch, as it were.

"It doesn't MATTER that it's not TRUE!"

Wow! You and your ilk are really part of the problem.

You are the doing the same thing here. So is lying wrong? Or are you ok with it when you agree the agenda?

reply

You're still admitting both sides are doing the same thing. That's my point.

The left and right both advance fake stories they know are fake just to hurt the other side. The Haitian cats story being an obvious example, and the couch also.

Don't pretend like either side is innocent. They both lie, both use fake stories. It's called "Ratfucking" and it's been going on in American politics for decades:

"Ratfucking is an American slang term for behind the scenes (covert) political sabotage or dirty tricks, particularly pertaining to elections. It was brought to public attention by Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein in All the President's Men (1974), "

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ratfucking

Politicians will do whatever they can to win at the end of the day. That's the game. There are no rules and no limits . Lie, spread false stories as much as you can. It's a game as old as Apple Pie.
