She's changed her name to.....

"Would you believe [she's] changing her name to Nkechi Amare Diallo?

"You might believe that; she apparently is paying tribute to her supposed African heritage.

"Would you believe that Nkechi Amare Diallo, short for Nkechinyere, originates from the Igbo language of Nigeria and means “what god has given” or “gift of god”?"

Lol really? Usually actors change their name to something more recognizable, not less!

reply

She has reason to want to be unrecognizable! But I wonder under which name will she release her book? My guess is it will be Dolezal.

Hello again.

I’m wondering where you outrage is coming from. She’s one lady that doesn’t affect our lives. She wants to take on another name, that’s her right. Whatever.

In the climate of people shaping their image in various fanciful ways -- stage names, adopted identities of various sorts -- what harm is it to let this chick feel an affinity with a culture? It’s not as if culture was fixed in stone. People identify constantly with things that they have weak experience with. It sounds like Dolezal has more experience with African stuff than your average, say, "Plastic Paddy” who wants to imagine their clan in Ireland or whatever, so big deal. This “news” is just “OMG!” sensationalism.

"...what harm is it to let this chick feel an affinity with a culture?" Because she doesn't just want to -- what is the SJW term for it? Oh, yes: perform an act of "cultural appropriation" -- which is simply wearing certain items associated with a certain culture. You know, like wearing Native American garb was popular back in the '70's. No, she wants us to pretend that she's black so she can maintain her fantasy. That is how it affects me. I have to choose to either pretend or deal with reality. I choose to deal with reality.

See it as you will.

Now, if I wanted to adopt your attitude, I could demand what is my attitude to you? Scroll on if you think it's just "OMG" sensationalism. But you feel compelled to denounce it. Fine. I'm denouncing what she's doing, because what she's doing requires that we all say she's black when she manifestly isn't. You're entitled to your opinion. She's claiming that it's a fact she's black because she wants to be. Once upon a time, when people announced they were something they manifestly weren't, it was a sign of mental illness. Now we're all supposed to shrug and say that 50 year old man identifies as a six year old child -- and we're bigots if we don't aid his fantasy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjC3zBKgL3M Please watch this to the end. How far do we go to aid their fantasy?

For what's coming next, watch this -- transspeciesism: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sObPHx2QMY0

Yes, the woman who thinks she was born a cat, and her psychologist confirms it. Now your job is to enable her psychosis or be labeled a bigot. Enjoy your Brave New World.

reply

Wow. Nut job. By which I mean you. I guess I predicted in the other thread that you would slide down the slippery slope into the youtube links of sensational stories.

Have some perspective, man! Progressive / left-wingers are butthurt about Dolezal because “how dare she appropriate blackness!” They are nutty and even racist in principle in how they judge the situation. Now look at the nuttiness of your conservative position: Oh no! If we recognize that this chick who is totally emerged in African-American culture calls herself “Black” -- a label that applies to people who are so light you don’t even suspect their African ancestry, through whiteboy Shaun King, through Barack Obama all the way to Kunta Kinte -- then carefully constructed reality will crumble before our eyes!1!

Take a break from YouTube and the Alex Jones shit. We need more weight in the middle of the see saw here to balance the regressive... we don’t need you flying off to the extreme end just because of the loonies on the other extreme.

reply

How is exposing the "Loony Left" outrage? Outrage is what SJWs do!
