Instead of a CGI Carrie in Episode IX...

Since her daughter had already taken a smaller part in the new Star Wars films with her mother, it would be nice to see in Episode IX, if Carrie was still central to the plot somehow, that instead of a CGI Leia being created to fill in the blanks, perhaps her daughter may be rewritten to do what her mother was going to do. Not make Billie Princess Leia, but just have her actual character step up and take command in Princess Leia's absence, if you know what I mean. She plays a young lieutenant in the rebellion, so why not let her be "promoted" as it were into the story. I think it would be nicer that way and more respectful of her Mother and her character. Thoughts?

Unless she had a direct link to Leia (daughter, cousin etc), it wouldn't make much sense plotwise.

I could see them killing Leia off between Episodes VIII & IX. They probably explain it on the opening crawl.

I was actually thinking about this, too - no one can really replace Carrie, but if anyone could - or should - I feel it would be Billie. I don't care if it was the worst make-up job ever to make her look older... I would accept her and cherish her for what it means to me as a fan and for her as her daughter.

Umm....... Can we all just kind of, you know, think about her a HUMAN BEING who just lost her Mother and Grandmother within a day? This is a 24 year old HUMAN BEING! I can't imagine her pain right now.

Please..... A little respect here.

My thoughts on her HONORING her mother have everything to do with thinking about her being a human being. I feel 1,000% terribly for her right now. I CRIED for her last night and talked about how sad it is with both my daughter and my mother. You're off base.
