Nothing that will stand up in court, but yeah, the aim of the imprisonment and torture was probably intended to kill him. I am surprised Putin at least went through the effort to make this death look accidental, as he did with Pregozhin before (tried to pass it off as a plane crash). Usually he is a little more up-front about murking his enemies.
