Well if you want a serious answer... he's usually described as a "failed actor". His older brother Edwin Booth was a huge stage star, and his career didn't suffer when his younger brother shot the president of the US.
shareHe was very popular, especially with the ladies and he came from a whole family of actors. I'd say more along the lines of Tom Cruise because of his good looks.
