I thought he was good in Fault in Our Stars but in Baby Driver, he took it to the next level.
This guy should be the next big young male star and I haven't seen one of those in years except for maybe Gosling who is halfway between a lead and a character actor.
Stop trying to make Miles Teller happen, and give this guy those roles instead from now on.

shareWho do you see as the top five from his generation who will take over from the Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Keanu Reeves, Johnny Depp era? The only relatively young person that stands out is Ryan Gosling and he's already 37.
shareGosling is a bonafide superstar for the past 10 years, I don't see him "taking over" I think he has already done that.
As for young stars coming through, I just found a page that stated 30 up and coming stars and I don't see any of them as having enormous star power.
Tom Cruise and Leonardo DiCaprio both were superstars from a young age so I think if there was someone on their level we'd know about them already.
I think Gosling is great, but it's debatable whether he has reached the heights in terms of star power of the Cruise type superstar, that could open anything with his name alone. In terms of critical acclaim, yes I agree he's the biggest star...but not sure if you can compare him with the big box office stars. I think other than Crazy Stupid Love, the rest of his films performed pretty modestly... he couldn't even carry Blade Runner to success despite huge anticipation.
Maybe I went overboard in my assessment of Elgort... I'm from the previous generation so maybe no one young even cares about him, but he had a lot of charisma... and I haven't seen that from any actor from the new generation so we'll see what happens.
