No, he asked whether it was normal, in the US, for a mother to take a shower naked with her 5 year old son.
She had been locked up in a single room with him for all his life, so it would be normal for them to take a shower together, but not necessarily normal for any other US parent to do so.
There's nothing normal about the situation in the first place.
In Denmark however, this would be totally ok.

Yup, we have a more relaxed and natural attitude towards nudity in Europe. We don't necessarily consider it obscene, it's simply a lack of clothing, nothing more.
