shareI just noticed Moviechat messed up by having his first and last name reversed.
shareMoviechat lists names in the Western format by default. His first name is Jong-un, and his surname is Kim. In Korea, the last name is said first, hence Kim Jong-un, Kim Jong-il, Kim Il-sung, and so forth. In the U.S. he'd go by Jong-un, so Moviechat lists names that way.
shareAbsolutely fascinating. Thanks for that. I legit did not know. It makes sense because they can't all be calling each other "Kim" because that would be confusing.
shareGlad to be of help. It's done in China as well. Chow Yun-Fat, for example, would be Yun-Fat Chow if his name were listed in the Western manner.
Names are also written that way in Japan, but for whatever reason are typically translated into the Western format for international releases. Akira Kurosawa, for example, would be Kurosawa Akira in Japan.

sharePortly is the more commonly accepted term these days. Fat is considered offensive by the portly.
