I too wished for them to lose in 2020/2021, first time in my life I have ever rooted against a US team in anything.

Every team I've ever played on had chemistry issues. Some good, some great, some bad.
I doubt most of the players on that team actually wanted to kneel, indeed, only two didn't. Did she exert pressure on them? Did they see other American Olympians of color embrace the flag and their country and wonder if they were being pressured to be on the wrong side of history?
I suspect Rapinoe created a lot of division and dissension on that team. It would certainly explain the lousy play if the age of the team doesn't.
I think this lousy Olympics is all Rapinoe. The team needs a thorough house cleaning, starting with those that are playing for a country they hate.
