Making a Maria Schneider biopic. How woke will it be?
She’s starring in a biopic that “reframes the short career and tragic life of Last Tango in Paris star Maria Schneider in a post-#MeToo light.”
Sounds like one of those festival darlings critics slobber over but few people watch.
Maybe if Vartolomei gets fully naked during the Tango scenes like Schneider did and they reenact the infamous butter scene (which was one of Schneider’s biggest sexism complaints) from that film it might be worth a look, but I doubt that will happen.
