I think she would be perfect. Much more fitting than who they cast and then cut from the film. She has the looks and talent to be an excellent Mary Jane IMO.

I would be thrilled beyond any possible expression if this happened, but isn't Shailene Woodley already locked in? Too bad. Jane Levy playing Mary Jane now would be almost as perfect as if Isla Fisher had played her in the old series.
shareMary Jane is about 5'8", has natural red hair, and the body of a super model. Jane bears little resemblance to MJ. She is still a pretty girl, but she doesn't match the physical description of MJ.

Its kind of silly though... in a series that has a redhead, they cast a blonde and dye her red, then for the blonde... they cast a redhead, and dye her blonde. Hurts the brain.
