Poor Album Sales Compared to Taylor Swift

Let's compare their album sales over the last decade.

Taylor

Speak Now = 4.7m
Red = 4.4m
1989 = 6.2m
Reputation = 2.2m
Lover = 1.2m
Folklore = 1.0m

Ariana

Yours Truly = 615,000
My Everything = 759,000
Dangerous Woman = 429,000
Sweetener = 321,000
Thank U, Next = 302,000
Positions = 500,000

Taylor's first week and total worldwide sales are also far more impressive than Ariana's.

Folklore sold 846,000 in its first week in the US, Positions sold 174,000 copies.

Just more evidence that proves that Swift sold her soul to the devil.

BTW, I would love for someone to leak an isolated vocal from one of her live shows or the dry track from a recording session. I'd pay real money to hear it..

Ariana is primarily a streaming artist and she destroys Taylor on streaming numbers.

reply

They include streaming figures in the sales now.

Taylor still beats Ariana.

Swift is far more talented than music factory Grande. When did Ariana ever play an instrument? Grande does not even write songs.

She’s the female Elvis, looks good but nothing between the ears.

reply

Ariana is more in line with the likes of Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston, she doesn't have to play an instrument or even write her songs.

reply

Blah blah blah.

The evidence shows Swift > Grande.

Period.

reply

By what metric? Ariana destroys her on streaming and social media numbers and is also a much superior singer.

reply

If she wasn’t hot you wouldn’t give a fuck about her. True story.

reply

Actually the main reason I like her is due to her voice and how great a singer she is. Her beauty is the cherry on top.

Taylor has cross-generational following, from kids to grandmothers. You go to her concert and you'll see all age groups. That's the hall mark of a superstar.

Ariana has little girls, teenagers and their mums. It's not the same type of star.

I'm someone who goes to concerts and also works security at concerts. I judge the star's star appeal based on who turns up.

Pink for example gets everyone. Janet Jackson (to my shock) in 2011 only had people over 30. Unlike her brother her fame doesn't transcend the era that she made the hits.

When I saw Michael Jackson in 1996, despite the press saying that he was a 'has-been', he got every demographic.

reply

Ariana has a wider appeal than Swift. She is more like Rihanna who also has a really wide appeal where both young and old people be them male or female listen to her. Taylor doesn't have that reach.

reply

Source? I'm basing my analysis on footage of concert goers that I've seen.
