"No More" ad. Is she a victim?

I was just curious whether or not she, or maybe someone she was close to, was a victim since she gets so choked up in this ad for the campaign to stop domestic violence.

I understand the severity of the issue, it's emotional for anyone, just wondering if there was a personal connection for her.

Same here, not knocking the issue or questioning it's severity and importance - but I find them stunningly un-clever (it's obvious an "I'm a genius" light bulb went off over the head of whomever came up with the idea. Or maybe it's just The execution of said idea. Probably more the latter.
