In a way shouldnt be too shocking,mtv likes to use actors who are in their late 20s or 30s to play teens,in general there are people in that age range that play teens

One thing I have learned in life is that people are really bad at telling ages. Crystal looks 28. Twenty-eight isn't old. It is still young. As an actress, playing a much younger character than herself, her management team has her acting and dressing younger to maintain her image. Slap her in a business suit and put her in an office and she would appear closer to her own age. I work with people close to her age all the time. A real-world 28-year-old cannot afford to act and dress like a Hollywood counterpart, but they are not old at all.
