Now that his stint on Game of Thrones is done...

Can we all agree that he was awesome? I can't imagine a better actor to play this character. He seriously made me despise Ramsay and wish painful death upon him. I'd love to see him play a bad guy again in a modern show or movie, there's something about him that says 'contemporary' to me, even though he was great in a medieval setting too.

reply

Absolutely. One of the greatest movie/Tv villains of this generation. I'm intrigued what he has to offer next.

That scene when it just kept cutting back to him telling his army "LOOSE!" was so amazing. He did the role justice and goes down in my book as one of the greatest villains.

reply

Agreed, his performance was rather special.
I've not seen him in anything else as I watch very little TV...only watch GOT as it's an HBO series. Whoever cast him did a great job....what a totally evil bastard he played.
Matched in extreme cnutishness only by Joffrey...again great acting!!...and casting.
My other favourites and equally superbly played...in no order,
Cersei
Tyrion
Jaime
Jon Snow
Samwell
Peter Vaughan's character
Stannis
Lady Brienne
Danaerys
The Hound

The only weak part of the story for me is Arya's storyline with the "many faced god"
I don't think it was explained very well if at all....but she plays the part well.

reply

The many faced God was poorly explained and just tedious. I agree completely with your list.

He and Jack Gleeson (Joffrey) were both excellent in GOT, both villains but very different characters. I kind of imagine that they both get dirty looks from strangers when they're out and about in their normal lives.

He should voice a Disney villain next !

reply

He was excellent. It'll be his defining performance for many years to come but to me he'll always be Simon, and even better, Future Simon.

reply

He better get an Emmy and Golden Globe nomination for best supporting actor because he didn't portray Ramsay as your textbook villain but a complex, layered and twisted character which is a rarity these days.

He could be typecast as a villain but he does it brilliantly. Would love to see him in a Tarantino film or in any future Stephen King adaptation.
