I think it had something to do with her popularity and "strong female character" experience with Game of Thrones combined with her familiarity of working with former series director Alan Taylor.

She is well known due to her involvement with GOT, so the producers just tried to cash oh her being recognizable. Also, I might imagine her professional fees are not that high.

And yet I don’t see one thing in this discussion that speaks to her arrogance, her littleness or her bitchiness.
