I think OP was referring to Alicia Vikander (who kinda looks like Emilia in the looks department....I guess? ) beating her at the Tomb Raider auditions. Daisy once confirmed that Tomb Raider could be her defining role in the future and was even certain that she'd be "perfect" for the role she was even willing to put in a lot of effort in making the movie because she was really into it. Sad how it turned out for her. As drastic as the differences between those two actresses....Hollywood appears to favor the oscar winning Alicia when it comes to making big bucks from a blockbuster. It's probably for the best, Alicia is beautiful and a talented woman who can jumpstart her own franchise. With her as lead Lara Croft can transition from being a teen sex symbol to a badass adventurer.

Thanks for the explanation. I've only seen Alicia in Ex Machina and I thought her acting was quite transparent. Get it? 'Transparent'? You could see right through her in that movie. Ha ha I crack myself up. I guess spreading the franchise roles out a little is probably good for the industry overall. Seems like a good move.
