Yes, there is definitely a strong resemblance. James is so gorgeous it's impossible to dislike him even if he is playing the most wretched of characters.

Don't you think that he also resemble to Jean Paul Belmondo when he was young of course!

That's funny because ever since my mother saw James in Grantchester, she has been referring to him as 'Robert Redford'. I agree that there is a resemblance.

I don't think James looks like Robert Redford, I love James and he is a hottie, But Robert Redford was REALLY pretty when he was about James' age. Bob is still good looking but he was VERY handsome and had a delicate face. James' features are more pronounced not as chiseled. Loved him since Belle ... he looked truly hurt when Belle broke their engagement, and I was hooked! 

I think he looks like a British version of Zach Gilford.
