I do wonder how those two Gummer girls managed to break into Hollywood.
They are not conventionally attractive, and getting your foot in the door is very hard even for really attractive people. It's a tough business.
Anyone know how the Gummer girls managed to push through and (both) make it in Hollywood?

shareI thought the same thing but it's clearly their mother's influence that got them jobs. Like their mom they are really plain Janes but there are supporting roles for people like them. I've never seen Meryl play a really difficult role so who knows why she's been so successful.
