Why the heavily airbrushed main picture?
Her freckles are part of her and many redheads' appeal. Why airbrush it?
For shame!

shareQuite right, and as far as my recollections from the advertising industry go, quite usual. Many portfolios have these pictures that show the shape of the face, the proportions, etc. without any extra features like freckles, etc.
This can be achieved with stark lighting or digitally, though digital work often tends to be fairly obvious.
Kung-Fu movies are like porn. First it's 1-on-1, then 2-on-1, then there's a group scene...
It is not "airbrushed" (I think you mean photoshopped... and it is not that either) it is partially lighting and a very short depth of field used on the lens, resulting in a soft focus effect. It is a pretty effect that makes her eyes really pop but you do less some definition so her freckles are not as prominent.
shareIn Photoshop, the tool that is often used for touching up blemishes, freckles, etc., is the airbrush so they are often interchanged. Of course, there are plenty of others as well but it still applies.
shareFreckles are great, they give us a target like paint by numbers.
