Standing next to Sophie Turner he looks tiny. But I'd say he's of average height.

His profile says he's 5' 8" and Sophie is 5' 9". Average height for a man is 6' and for a woman it's 5' 6" (give or take an inch) on both numbers. So by that rationale, he's a bit below average and she's a bit above. Being very tall runs rampant in my family. I have several male cousins well over 6' 6" and 2 over 7'. My nephew just turned 8 at the end of April and is already 5' 4" tall. I'm the tallest female in our family at 6' 2" and my sister topped out at 5' 11". I only mention this because I didn't want just seem to be spouting off numbers, I know height very well. There are quite a few male actors that are on the shorter side, but it certainly does not diminish their performances. Besides, being tall kinda sucks because you hit your head a lot or get asked to hand down items to all the little women that come down the grocery aisle you're standing in. : )

Where on earth are you from? In both the US and the UK, average height for men is 5'9"/5'10", while average height for women is about 5'4"/5'5".

If you haven't noticed, movies and general media for whatever reason tend to use 6ft as the default/ideal height for any random male character or person, and for women it's 5'6". That's what causes the perception for some people to assume that the average male is 6ft and the average female is 5'6" even though both numbers are above average.
