What a dope

Just imagine the outrage and cries about racism if a bunch of celebrities would have gotten together in 2008 in an effort to legally prevent Barack Obama from assuming presidency.

Lady Gaga, Pink, Sia and More Encourage Fans to Join Effort to Deny Donald Trump the Presidency

A wave of Hillary Clinton's celebrity supporters are petitioning the Electoral College electors to go against their states' votes.

Lady Gaga, Pink, Sia and other celebrities have lent their support to a campaign to legally prevent Donald Trump from assuming presidency and is encouraging their fans to do the same.

The effort is attached to a petition with more than 3.1 million signatures at publishing asking the electors of the Electoral College to reject how their states voted on Dec. 19 and instead vote for Hillary Clinton.

Gaga posted to Twitter, "If you feel scared about the current state of American politics and Whitehouse sign this petition."

The petition argues that "Mr. Trump is unfit to serve. His scapegoating of so many Americans, and his impulsivity, bullying, lying, admitted history of sexual assault, and utter lack of experience make him a danger to the Republic.

It argues that while Trump won the electoral vote, Clinton's expected victory of the popular vote by more than 2 million votes and more than 1.5 percentage points deserves the presidency. And it explains how that might be possible, albeit a long shot.

Though electors (who are typically regular people) rarely differ from their state's voting, there is no federal law that requires them to do so.

Lol. The dope is on her message board making a post. And there was much ado when President Obama was elected. You must have a short memory. There was even talks of him being assassinated. Somehow, being an activist doesn't QUITE compare to threatening to kill somebody. Somehow, I know you'll doubt this. When you refuse to accept the facts, there's not much anyone can do for you. But I wish you love and peace (as you seem in short supply) and hopefully you can celebrate your win with all of your "alt right" friends. You do remember you won, right? ?

I didn't want Trump to win (not that I'm a Hillary fan), but if Obama, the Democratic party leader, is saying that "the people have spoken, Donald Trump will be the next President," then it's freakin' over. And as for fantasies about electoral voters going against their pledges (i.e., becoming faithless electors), FactCheck.org says dream on: http://www.factcheck.org/2016/11/could-electoral-college-elect-clinton/

And I'll add that even with Hillary just winning New Hampshire's 4 electoral votes, and even if she won Michigan's 16 votes, that still would leave 22 Trump electors to persuade in order for her to get to 270. The last time anywhere near that many electors were faithless was in 1872, and that was because their candidate Horace Greeley died before the electoral vote. Since the 1948 election there's never been more than one faithless elector, not even in the infamous Decision 2000.

tl;dr: I love Ms. Germanotta, but she needs to pick up a history book. Or at least do a Google search.

Must dash. I forgot to feed my wombat.
