Nevermind that it didn't chart well either. Katy just can't compete in today's landscape with the likes of Ariana, Billie and Gaga dominating. She has failed to evolve and grow as an artist and is still stuck with the poppy/kiddie stuff. She's done.
Why do I get the impression you are getting some enjoyment out of the fact?
Pop artists rarely stay at the top for long. Only a handful survive past about 5 years of a career. She's done ok, even if she isn't selling like Ariana now.
That said, I really haven't cared for any of her new songs I've heard. I'm not her target audience I guess. Whatever, I wish her the best.
I was a fan of hers during the first two albums. Starting with the third she just stagnated and didn't show any growth or development as an artist and this latest album shows her still stuck in her kiddie phase while her contemporaries have evolved.
