Mistress of Rome

Ok, so I am reading a book called Mistress of Rome and the start of it reminded me a lot of Spartacus Blood and Sand. A slave girl and her cruel mistress rival for the love of a gladiator. The gladiator falls in love with the slave girl and when they are discovered the mistress sends the slave girl away to a whorehouse. Reminded me so much of Lesley-Ann's character Naevia. The slave girls name in the book is "Thea" and I just noticed Lesley-Ann played a character named Thea in another show. Weird!
Anyway, I'd recommend the book to anyone who loved Spartacus. Lots of gladiator action but a nice love story too.

I've read that book also and it's one of my favorites! I can't wait for the next one.

Crixus/Naevia does remind me of that story, minus the emperor part.

I checked the publishing date of the book because that sounds just like Craevia story. I thought I shouldn't call it a rip off without checking. At least she gives credit where credit is due:
