Jennifer Lawrence wasn't famous and typecast before her Oscar nomination. Unlike Lawrence Gemma is already typecasted as eye candy in most of her movies. Actresses who are typecasted have often issues to change their image and rarely break out of it. I think Gemma has almost no chance to win in Oscar in the future.
Heck, Halle Berry, Charlize Theron--they were both considered hotties. Reese Witherspoon.
