If Marvel can ignore a few nutjob feminists, and it's time to cast the Captain Marvel movie they get Gemma to play Jessica Drew/Spiderwoman. She has the look and is a BADASS. And she is British. In the comics, Jessica Drew was raised in ENGLAND! Folks do not buy that crap on Agents of Shield were they are trying to sell us that the half-Asian chick will soon become Spiderwoman. If Gemma can't be Lara Croft,she can least be Spiderwoman.

Though, some have said that IF Marvel does a Spider-Woman movie, they will do the Julia Carpenter iteration, simply because, for story-line purposes, it's much easier to portray on-screen.
Basically, Julia is sick with some life-threatening disease and goes to this clinic for treatment. Turns out the facility is run by HYDRA or whatever evil team they use and they actually inject Julia with an experimental serum that ends up giving her powers. Long story short, they use her for a bit, she realizes they're evil and turns on them to become a hero.
That story is much simpler to tell than the Jessica Drew one. However, I think they should combine the two characters and make Julia british, because, as I stated, Gemma is perfect for the role of Spider-Woman.
