This bitch is still alive.

I hope this racist dies a slow painful death.

Carolyn Bryant was the original victim in this whole situation and there isn't any evidence that she is a racist. Till was going to rape her until his associate pulled him away. If nobody else was there to restrain Till, he probably would have raped her. Till grabbed her hand and then grabbed her by the hips after she retreated to the rear of the store. I personally don't think murder was appropriate for Till but he probably should have been locked up for some sort of crime. It sounds like he was already a menace at age fourteen.

Till's father was convicted during WW2 by a military court for the murder of an Italian woman and the rape of two Italian women. He and another soldier were executed by hanging by the military. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Some author published a book claiming that Carolyn Bryant recanted her testimony but the Bryant family disputes the details in Tyson's book and insists that she did not recant her court testimony. The family hired the author to help with Bryant Donham's memoir and he wrote an unauthorized book without notifying the family.

The Justice Department reopened her case and did not bring charges. She even told her husband that Till was not the boy who caused trouble but Till admitted that he was the one. Don't rely on Hollyweird for history lessons since they never get it right.

The two men admitted to the killing in the 50s. Though they didn't say she did it, the fact that they weren't there when the incident happened, they obviously went to kill him based on her accusations.

Carolyn Bryant's husband and brother-in-law abducted Emmett Till. She did not play a part in the murder. The article below notes that Bryant told the two men that Emmett Till was not the boy who gave her trouble but Emmett Till identified himself as the culprit. Other people in the town witnessed Emmett Till being dragged out of the store and his wolf-whistling while Carolyn Bryant ran to get a shotgun. Other townspeople told the husband and brother-in-law about the incident. It's also important to remember that women did not have many rights back in the fifties and she was the mother of two young children.

In the unpublished memoir, Donham claims that when her husband and brother-in-law brought Till to her to identify him as the one who made the advances toward her, she told them, “He’s not the one. That’s not him.” She says she told her husband that he wasn’t the one who whistled at her and tried to encourage him to bring the boy back home. Till was brought to her home in the middle of the night after the men kidnapped him before killing him.

“I did not wish Emmett any harm and could not stop harm from coming to him, since I didn’t know what was planned for him,” Donham says in the unpublished manuscript. “I tried to protect him by telling Roy that ‘He’s not the one. That’s not him. Please take him home.’”
