I'm so glad she is not only beautiful but also a down to earth, socially-aware young actress, there are plenty of beautiful people in the acting world but not all of them are also beautiful inside, I especially admire her for her support for the social justice demand in Brasil and for not joining the 'hate the Muslims wagon' after Rigby murder. Thank you Kaya for being the voice of reason among many hateful voices...

She has tweeted: on 22 May

"I was raised by an amazing man who is Muslim. He taught me so much about peace and kindness, and showed me love. We are all human beings'

"So sad2see that in 2013 we still have so much racism and ignorance in the world.How can u associate a persons insanity with a whole religion"

I'm also a bit curious about her dad, was he Muslim?

Yeah, that's what I read as well but then she tweeted about being raised by a Muslim man, I'm a bit confused to be honest,my guess is a) her dad was a British Muslim b) her mum's partner was Muslim

In the end it does not matter that much, what she did was admirable, she warned people about not generalizing one crazy man's vile act against a whole community, that is a brave thing to say in today's world where too much hate is preached....
