Had no idea she can fake an American accent
But in her new show she pulls it off well.
shareWhich new show? If you mean NTSF, on which she's great, she clearly sounds Scottish. Or is there something else?
The war is not meant to be won... it is meant to be continuous.
She has a new show on ABC (in the states) called Selfie. It also stars John Cho.
What do we want?
Time travel!
When do we want it?
It's irrelevant!
Ah, very good! I'l have to check it out.

An actress imitating an accent? Whoever woulda thunk it?
shareI have to say her US accent in the clips of Selfie I've seen is really grating - unlike the one she sports in Guardians Of The Galaxy.
Whoever invented ignore lists is an unsung genius.
Agreed, she is very good. Especially good in Guardians of the Galaxy.
When theres no more room in Hollywood, remakes shall walk the Earth.
I watched enough of Selfie to learn two things:
1. I don't like that show. I tried to like it, but I just couldn't.
2. Gillan's attempt at an American accent works some of the time, but certain words still come out Scottish.
I REALLY try to avoid TV shows whose titles are stupid trendy words invented in the last five years ("Selfie","Friends with Benefits", "Cougar Town"). However, she did have an American accent in "Occulus" too. And while it was basically good, it seemed to make her whole performance a little forced and unnatural.
I saw her again in British movie I forgot the name of where she was speaking in a more native accent (and also running around naked at one point), and her acting seemed a lot more natural (or maybe I just didn't care?).
