What any actor could learn from Karen...

No matter what the role is, take it 100% seriously. After watching Guardians of the Galaxy for the first (and second and third) time since the theater, she stands out head-and-shoulders above any actor despite her limited screen time. It really feels like she had become this character: Nebula while a lot of other characters were a famous actor being called by another name. The only other character I'd give a close 2nd place was Bradley Cooper's Rocket voiceover.

I'm won over; I will watch anything with Karen Gillan now.

It's interesting that you mention that. When she first appeared as Amy on Doctor Who, I wasn't too impressed for the first couple of episodes. I don't know if she hadn't gotten her head completely around the character, or if the Moff hadn't yet found her voice--either of those things sometimes take a couple of episodes to work out.

On "Selfie", she seemed locked in from day 1.

She ended up being my favorite companion in Dr Who after a while, and then when she was gone I felt extremely sad for a long time lol. I still do sometimes, she was brilliant in that role and I want her to come back :(

In Selfie too, she gives all that she got.

She never hold back, or get self aware, she do anything for the character
