I didn't mean to imply that. I agree the pilot was kinda eh, but I don't think she's a bad actress. Just curious about her career.

Yeah, I was shocked when I came here and saw she had only one professional acting job prior to getting a starring role. She was pretty darn good tonight if you ask me, definitely not giving off a "just a face" vibe at all. Not great, but volumes better than what I would expect from such inexperience.

Something is definitely up here. Apparently, she is 26 and only had 1 movie credit to her name. This does not happen. This must be a Chelsea Handler situation. Or maybe they cast an unknown because it was cheaper?

I just finished episode 2 of "Orange is the New Black" on Netflix and visited her profile to check out her creds. I knew of her name from "Mercy" and "The Brave One" but thought for sure she'd have at least a dozen credits dated before "Mercy."

Wow, could not have been more wrong. I'd hate to throw shade by implying she did anything questionable to get where she is so quickly, but damn. Even Jennifer Lawrence did TV and indie film for 3-4 years before "Winter's Bone" came around.

It was kind of shocking that Taylor Schilling got the starring role on 'Mercy' when Michelle Trachtenberg had been acting forever. I don't think Schilling is bad either, far from it, but Michelle T is really talented in her own right and far more experienced: I guess she looked too young to play the lead?
