Doesn't have a chance in hell of being Spidey

There is no way studio execs are going to take a gamble by changing the race of a major comic character. The potential backlash from fans is too great for them to risk millions of dollars and the future of a lucrative franchise.
And at the end of the day it is still a BUSINESS the studio is running. And when it comes to a business the word "gamble" is not a welcome thing.

They did the same with the live adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender, and that didn't stop fans from watching it or the general public from watching it. People will always be curious to watch anything about their favorite property. How many fans of Harry Potter still watch the movies when they come out even if those people claim that the movies are bad?

I can't believe you just used The Last Airbender as an example. That movie is critisized as being one of the worst films ever made and on top of that has invoked negative attitudes for white washing all of the characters and casting an Indian guy as a bad guy.
