aww now she looks exactly like all the other women in hollywood, good for her. maybe add some plastic bobs and some botox.

reply

You're right. Having a healthy weight is sooo démodé and boorish!

reply

aww poor baby wants botox too. good for you buddy

reply

You're right, women should either be fat like cows or have their face filled with botox: those are the options. Having a healthy weight and a natural look is sooo démodé and boorish!

reply

she wasn't morbidly obese, she could have lost a few pounds, without looking like a generic hollywood porn star, wake up bro and don't démodé yourself

reply

as far as i can tell , you two are on the same side of the argument , just speaking in different layers of sarcasm

reply

The funny thing is that I actually like chubby girls. But Adele was not chubby. She was obese.

I find her incredibly sexy in this pic, for example

But in this pic she had already lost a lot of weight.

reply

Yeah , she needed to lose a fair bit to be healthy.. and has :)

reply

Yeah.

She was fat and beautiful, not sure her new skinny face will look as good.

reply

Nope. When she was fat she was far from being beautiful.

There was a chubby moment, the one in the above picture, when she looked lovely (at least, for me). But she wasn't fat anymore. In that pic she's probably 10 kg overweight. Originally she should have been about 50 kg overweight. There's a big difference.

reply

she always has fake nails

reply

she wasn't morbidly obese

She was very fat.

She didn't look that fat because she knows how to dress. However, you can see clearly her weight in close pics. You're tellling me that this is not obese??

She dressed well because she's not the usual stupid Hollywood star that goes 'Oh, look how fat I am, I feel so empowered!. But she was very fat nonetheless.

reply

Preferred her the way she looked before with a bit of weight on her, it suited her.

reply

Totally. I remember thinking the same thing when Geri Halliwell lost a lot of weight when she went on with her solo career, back in the day.

reply

Funny you should say that. I used to have the biggest crush on Geri Halliwell when she was in The Spice Girls. By the time she had gone solo and became skinny i.e. in the It's Raining Men video, I lost interest.

reply

Same thing here! I liked her new stuff but I found her to be way less attractive. These women get criticized so much on their weight, it's a shame. I always thought to myself that Geri did that extreme transformation as a f*ck you to everyone who criticized her weight. Like "See me now? I too can be skinny if I want." I have no idea if that's what Adele is doing.

reply

She looks great!

reply

Betcha she had some kind of weight loss surgery! Hopefully it's one of the kinds that can be reversed, like a gastric band, because the irreversible surgeries can have some long-term effects that might not be worth the trouble for someone who wasn't very heavy.

I admit I'm a bit disappointed to see her suddenly thin. She was one of those rare artists who seemed to totally go her own way, she wrote what she wanted to write and made the music she wanted to make, and went around looking like herself and not some entertainment industry executive's idea of a blonde pop tart. She always looked great, and she never looked like anyone else in the music industry! Suddenly she seems... less unique. More conformist.

reply

All these people angry that she lost weight, wtf? "she's conformist" "now she's just like everyone else" Jesus fucking Christ, the woman has worked hard for this and probably added 20 years to her lifespan. This is what a healthy woman looks like. Get over it. People are pissed off at her? Get a grip. If you don't like it, you're probably a fat fuck that used Adele's obesity as justification for your own lifestyle. Now she is no longer a poster child for the dangerous fat acceptance lot, they're losing their minds. Well done to her I say.

reply

That's our times.

Traditionally, unhealthy habits or behaviors used to be shamed. Being fat was shamed. Having too many thugs in a community was shamed.

Nowadays, we have moved to the opposite extreme: women that look healthy are shamed. Communities that are law abiding are shamed. I guess it's some kind of psychological compensation mechanism.

reply

even when she was obese she barely had a double-chin

You know, when "Rolling in the Deep" came out, I happened to hear it one day while driving home from work. I was immediately taken with her strong voice, and commented to my wife about a new singer I had heard called Adele.
Soon after that, she was all over the radio with that song. Then we saw the video of the song, and were struck by this pretty, slightly heavy-set woman belting out the song. I have never had any problem with any actor, singer or comedian, for that matter, being on the large size. The only thing that I care about is if that entertainer ENTERTAINS me. And she does.
