Why is it the majority of time do people get on the woman's case when they have a problem with age differences like this?

reply

In cases where the observation is verbalized by a younger male it is because he feels rejected and unworthy when the object of his affections passes him over. Thus he blames her for making him feel that way.

But I've heard a lot of women make the same kinds of comments about other women. I got no idea on why that would be? You?

You want a pseudo psychological answer?

I don't think women like a big age gap, cos it feels so unlikely, it feels like an arranged marriage kind of thing, where the woman is dating him for some kind of financial gain, or security.

It doesn't feel like a relationship based on love or free choice, which are held up as the ideal for emancipated women!

There is also the whole Hollywood movie scenario, where older guys always get the sexy young female, which can also be frustrating for women who know life rarely works like this! Aren't the figures something like 90% of couples are aged within 5 years of each other?
