It gets old

Aubrey Plaza's thing is to look like she's better than everyone, bored by everything, and hating everyone.

To me, it's gotten old, in the same way that it's gotten old that Mary Lynn Rajskub (Chole from 24) always plays a hostile, bitter drone.

I was so looking forward to seeing Mary Lynn Rajskub in a new role in the movie Firewall (2006) with Harrison Ford, but she was just bitter again.

Also with Lewis Black, the anger thing I think has been played out. We get it, you cast all your comedy in the pretense that you're angry.

It's the same thing with Aubrey. I was hoping that seeing her on The Daily Show that it was all an act, and that I would get to see a new side of her, like haha it's all a joke, here's the real me. But she did her thing again.

I think she's in a rut with her role choices, or just has a limited range.

Exactly my thinking. I find her very annoying and not a good enough actress to cop that attitude (which may be why it's her "shtick"). At any rate, she won't have a long career keeping this phony persona going off camera (and on camera as well).

She has been on a string of talk shows promoting this dumb film and last night on Conan's show all she talked about was penises, as if it made her so cool and cutting edge.

Yeah, also like how it's gotten old seeing Rebel Wilson and Melissa McCarthy play the same clumsy goofy fat lady in every movie. It was funny at first but we've seen them do it 100 times now.

I barely know of her but I saw her on Chelsea Lately and she was honestly the most off-putting actress I recall seeing on that show just based on her interview demeanor, which was a mix of "I never smile" and "I'm so bored." Then she was on Conan a few nights later and acted the exact same way. It was so annoying that I will now make it a point to never check out anything she's done. Her interviews suck.

The thing is, like you say, it's not an act. That overused character she always plays is just her. She's an awful actress for this very reason, anyone on this board can show up and read lines in a monotone way and call it acting.

Thank god! thought it was just me that thought this way.

What I lack in talent, I make up for in my pants!

Not to mention that in most of her interviews she finds a way to talk about *beep* or about penises in general. We get it, you're edgy. And you use your vag to promote yourself and your "acting" career. Yep, you're somethin' special.

Then get to it, chum.
