She participated on the Charlie Sheen roast, and made this crack about William Shatner ... "I've seen less bloated bodies being dredged from the river".
Now, that's an awful thing to say about Capt. Kirk, but he is gargantuan. How did he get to 92 being so incredibly obese.
But, Schumer just got so much backlash on these nasty comments, which is the point of these roasts these days, and they were not any worse than cracks from the other comedians? Why?
Stealing jokes and transforming them is the lifesblood of comedy.
I don't care, especially if I've never heard the other joke.
I think it's a cover for something else.
Most comics would never even think about stealing a joke, as they fully understand just how detrimental it is to their reputation and career. It completley ruined people like Carlos Mencia, who's ticket sales dropped 90% after he was exposed. And legends like Dave Attell is famous for calling up several other comics, just to double- and triple-check that nobody else has done a picece similar to a new joke he's just written.
Amy Schumer on the other hand (whom BTW has stolen many a joke from Dave Attell) always choses to play the victim, and claiming pepole only hate her "because I'm a woman" when she's continued to be caught stealing jokes, time after time after time. Which only makes her out to be even more of a disgusting human being.
First of all, the vast majority of comedy careers don't go any further than the club circuit (and maybe a fringe/just4laughs gig) where nobody gives a shit and in fact half the comics do the same or very similar material quite by accident.
Secondly. Amy's career is doing great. And so did Dennis Leary's despite a huge chunk of his entire act being "inspired" by Bill Hicks who greatly emulated Kinnison's act.
Yes it's because Schumer is a woman that dipshits routinely complain that she alone 'gets away with it and it's because she's a woman'. How can it not be?
Rewording someone else's joke a bit is the lifeblood of comedy? Huh.
I admire people who come up with a unique way of doing a thing, a different slant or angle of looking at something. Taking someone else's bit and keeping the original structure even, just changing the wording to fit your delivery, not quite the same in my judgement.
From what I've seen most of the criticism comes from most of her early stand up revolving around talking about her vagina and also from her political views that are an echo chamber of the views held by East Coast Jewish elites.
I don't have a strong opinion about her myself and have found some of her jokes to be pretty funny.
... they were not any worse than cracks from the other comedians? Why?
I suspect the gags for these shows are all written by the same team of writers, so it's not surprising that the jokes delivered by the various comedians taking part are of a similar level.

I answered your question about Amy, but since you want to play s games, then, them, too. But they were always and still are funnier, less obnoxious, and were good for a number of years, not around two.
