Best band ever!
Where would I be without my Pearl Jam...no one knows...
shareNo PJ fans here?
shareFrom all the songs I have heard from them I like only the ''rear view mirror'' and that is all
shareHow about Dirty Frank?
shareIt has hip hop characteristics, not my thing
shareOh ok, it sounds like funk music to me. How about Black?
shareOK that's a good song, I like Pearl Jam they are not unpleasant to me, I'm in to alternative rock and the like that were mainstream at 90s, but It's a kind of music that needs the right time and the right place to be appreciated, to be in the mood, perhaps a little drunk or stoned or both
shareI was late to the Pearl Jam train, but really appreciate them now.
8/10
I am glad you finally found them. This is one of my favorite discs. Not sure if you have it or not.

Ten is amazing. That will hold up as one of many GOAT albums from the 1990s. A defining album of the era, but not THE defining Grunge album, or band, if you know what I mean.
shareTen is effing amazing. There wasn't one bad or filler song on that album. Who do you think is the defining grunge band or album of the 90's? For me its equally split between PJ and Nirvana. Both of their debut albums were amazing.
shareDirt by Alice in Chains. I think when people lament that grunge was so depressing, they are referring to this album. It's got everything to define grunge, especially the lyrical substance, you know, like the whole thing is basically what it's like to be a rock star heroin junkie.
Nevermind was the album to move an entire culture, it was the most recent Beatles moment, there hasn't been one since. However, lyrically, it's not what the other bands were crushing it with, even by Kurt Cobain's admission, he said some of the songs he was just screaming jibberish.
I think you are right. It is a fantastic album. I hadn't listened to it in a while and it brings back great emotions.
Nirvana was lightning in a bottle and who knows what their 3rd album would have sounded like. Music went stale in the late 2000's. There hasn't been anything musically new since nu metal phased out.
I don't know about ever, but I definitely would say they're my favorite band from that era...
