Loved her in the Pilot

One of the main reasons I checked out TSC was because of Phoebe Tonkin (after having enjoyed her performance in H2O: Just Add Water).

I was looking forward to getting to see Phoebe play a different type of character to that of Cleo in H2O, and she didn't disappoint. What I especially liked about Faye was that, although she was reckless and clashed with Diana, she wasn't entirely without morals/heart. Sure, when Diana told Faye to stop what she was doing (conjuring the storm), Faye didn't listen, but then once lightning struck Diana, Faye immediately showed concern for her and tried to put an end to the storm. While other antagonists in shows probably wouldn't have shown any concern at all for the person they so often 'clash' with, Faye proved that she is capable of realising when she's gone too far/is in over her head.

I also liked earlier in the 'Pilot' episode, when she was encouraging Cassie to put out the fire (which Faye had started) on her car. Okay, so setting Cassie's car alight to get Cassie to display her power was a little extreme, but it's not like Faye was taking delight in scaring the crap out of Cassie or anything like that. Faye just appears to be very blunt and to-the-point. I think what I'll most enjoy is watching the scenes between Faye and Diana. I like what I've seen of them so far, and look forward to more. So long as the show doesn't turn Faye into a 'cartoon villain' or anything, it should all be good.

Phoebe definitely looks to be relishing the role, and she's certainly playing the most fun character so far. I know some people have had issue with her American accent, but I actually don't mind that we can still hear a bit of the Aussie in her when she speaks.
