“Dear Phoebe; 'STAY OUT OF HOLLYWOOD!'”

I don't know WHAT it is, but ANY Actor/Actress who goes to an AMERICAN TV/Movie PRODUCTION COMPANY is, FOREVER, “CHANGED” — and NOT ALWAYS (necessarily) “for the better!”

I could go on, and list all of the Actors/Actresses who have had their lives IRREVOCABLY RUINED, because of places like Hollywood, New York (Broadway), or Las Vegas — to name but a few — but, unfortunately, I wouldn't know where to start (there are TOO MANY!)

So, I'll just give you a little “Big Brother” Advice: Stay True, to yourself; Remember your Roots; and, Avoid Becoming the Spotlight, of ANY "Suspicious" People — in other words:
If it looks TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, then it SHOULD BE CONSIDERED (without a doubt) "TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE!"

(This message is meant, with the SINCEREST ADORATION, for Ms. Tonkin, and shouldn't be, otherwise, inferred!)

The 21st Century is when everything changes, and you've got to be ready!

respect to your words, but i say if you see an opportunity to make your dream take it, but like you said "consider it" and avoid dodgy people

What if Micheal J Fox had thought that, or Kate Winslet, or Ryan Gosling, or Mel Gibson, ok thats a bad example. It doesn't ruin everyone. If you go to Hollywood to be a star you probably won't, if you go to do good work and improve yourself with some luck you just might.

So where is she and the other 1000's of actors supposed to go? NY/LA is where everything is cast. She isn't at the level yet where she can pick her own projects or not need to audition.

It's not Hollywood, it's the Hollywood wannabes who ruin this place. I've lived in LA for 2 years and you have users and abusers everywhere who will leech off you if they think you have something to offer. Everyone is working an angle.

As long as she goes home after work instead of to the club she'll be fine. The party crowd is where the trouble begins.
