Ashley Juergens
I'm going to quote India's character description. Okay? k.
She is mature, observant, and sarcastic and tends to speak in a low, monotone voice. Between her parents' marital troubles and Amy's pregnancy, Ashley is often forgotten by her family and remarks that she could get away with anything. However, Ashley's main concern is keeping her family together, including her nephew. Ashley believes that the baby will reunite her dividing family and worked hard to discourage Amy from adoption. In an effort to support her sister financially Ashley voluntarily took a job as a cocktail waitress, but was forced to quit by her father because she was underage.

So yes people who think she's a bad actress, she's supposed to be monotone. The problem is. You don't like her character because you don't like people who speak differently because you think everyone has to speak the same way in order to meet your requirements of actually becoming some what associated with you.
I'm not in high school or anything - thank god - but when I was, it was a nightmare. It was sickening to watch everyone so worried about the most redundant things. Or how people criticized one another because they were poor or rich, or wore clothes they didn't like.
It's called criticizing. Almost everyone does it. I do it. Don't know why, but sometimes I find myself doing it to someone without even noticing it. I don't want to, but I do.
You can't tell if India is a good or bad actress by watching her a few times on a teen show. Especially since her resume lists TWO things that she has acted in. Not only that, the writers should be blamed, not the actors. Some of the lines they say are a bit off. They do what they can with what is given to them.
India is only what? 15, 16? Give her a break. She hasn't even hit adult her. People grow with time.
Would you believe 2 dozen Delta Force commandos?
No.
How about Chuck Norris with a BB gun?
