She was offered the Juliet Role (Romeo and Juliet)

I would like more diverse roles for her.

Although it would have been a great part for her career wise, I can totaly understand why India didnt want to even audition for the part. She would have been and always will be compared to her mother. Playing the part of Juliet would only invite further comparisons and criticism.

Just to be clear, being asked to audition for a role is in no way equivalent to being OFFERED a role. She was never given the part or asked to be a part of the production, merely offered an audition.

I think that's a wise decision.

I understand the difficulty with taking on her mother's role, but I still wish she or someone else had taken it instead of Steinfeld, who is normally great but just was appalling as Juliet.

That would've been....uncanny...
