Would have been perfect in...
Star Trek (2009) as young Kirk.
shareMaybe we'll get lucky and future Trek movies will have flashbacks of Kirk's childhood, and they'll use this actor instead...
shareI guess it depends on your reasoning. If it's because of acting ability, I can't really agree. Jimmy Bennett, who played Young James T. Kirk in Star Trek (2009), only had 2 lines as I recall. So, I don't see that it would make a difference. If you are saying this because of Dakota Goyo looks more like a young version of Chris Pine, who played the adult Kirk, I actually do agree. Goyo looks much more like Pine than Bennett does.

I assume Bennett's limited role as young Kirk compared to the actor who portrayed young Spock, who got a lot more lines and even a fight scene, was due to his lack of resemblance to Pine, but also perhaps because of his acting ability. I didn't see enough to say "what a great actor," but I did see that from Goyo from the moment he opened his mouth in Real Steel.
