As much as I think they should bring Taylor back (they never should have turned to Channing in the first place), if the rumors are true, I have a feeling it has to do with Channing's lack of box office power. The budget for the movie was reportedly around 150M, and they need someone bankable. Unfortunately, Taylor's last big movies were flops - John Carter and Battlefield. So if they're looking for someone more bankable, Taylor might not be their first choice, which is sad. He is perfect for the part and was really sub-utilized in X-Men Origins.
