Wow you are right! As a Monty fan, I can't believe I never saw what was so obvious before. Dave could easily pass as him in a movie if one is ever made but not sure I'd put him close, at least not yet, in the same acting caliber as MC.

He does kinda look like him!

I just read his brother James has cast him as Montgomery Clift in his new film, Zeroville. I guess it was just destined to happen, it's uncanny.

I watched From Here to Eternity again recently, and Dave does look a lot like him.

I think agents and managers just invoke Monte's image in some of the photos/roles on purpose to further their clients careers
as long as it keeps the next generation from forgetting who he was I am happy
