Pour It Up video observation.

The Pour It Up video seems to be sexaully provocative enough to give someone like Britney Spears a slutshame, if it were her video. Everybody judges Miley Cyrus and other White women like Madonna for being too out there with their sexuality, but when a Black woman does the same thing, nobody has a problem with it. Do you think that White women are expected to be the virgin mary and Black women to be sexually provocative? It just seems like controversy follows women like Marilyn Monroe or Kim Kardashian. The only time controversy follows Black women in the media is when it involves abuse with a black male spouse like chris brown. I'm just making an observation.

You completely flew by the point I was trying to make! "Black women vs white women when it comes to slutshaming." White female celebrities are more likely to be slutshamed and I'm just wondering why. I know from experience at how society encourages black women to take off their cloths like rihanna, who is seen as a liberated woman. But white women get a class system, either you're a "Modest woman" or a slutty one. I know white women who went through high school as the slut, but was still a virgin until they graduated college.

First of all i am not black but i have always wondered why miley got so much crap when rihanna was doing the exact same thing wayy before miley did it.

rihanna and miley are 2 peas in a pod in my eyes.

Rihanna doesn't stick her ghastly tongue out or simulate masturbation with a foam finger. Also, unlike Miley people don't remember Rihanna as America's sweetheart for tweens.

Please don't turn this into a race thing when it's clearly not. The reason why Miley got so much slack is simple. She was a Disney star, Rihanna wasn't. People still remember Miley as an awkward little 11 year old girl and she had such a young fanbase and many people felt she did a 180 in her career. When Rihanna went Good Girl Gone Bad she did catch a little flack as well but at this point people are so used to her ways that's it's kind of like whatever. Same goes for Miley, people aren't as shocked anymore so it's like...eh, it's just Miley being Miley again.
