Narcissism.

He's always been viewed as egotistical but the way he's handling his aging and decline in performance is a real spectacle.

Instead of hopping into the backseat and slowly heading of into the sunset he's throwing a strop like a baby.

All athletes age and decline. Handle it with grace, you had a hell of a run and are set for life. Be happy with your achievements. Most other players just get on with it, spend more time on the bench and/or go to lesser teams in less challenging leagues. He's embarassing.

What has he done now?

Gave an interview slamming Manchester United's manager, the club facilities and talking shit about Wayne Rooney.

He's burning all bridges.

In recent weeks he's made a point to go out of his way to shake hands with football presenters so he can purposely snub those who haven't kissed his ass (snubbed Gary Neville in front of the cameras). So petty and childish.

This all just weeks after refusing to be substitued on in a match, walking down the tunnel and subsequently getting fined multiple weeks wages and removed from the squad for the following match.

And this is after desperately trying to find a club all summer which he couldn't do because none of the good teams (in the champions league) wanted him and/or were willing to pay his astronomical wages. He'll be 38 in February, he needs to accept he's no longer one of the best players in the world and he needs to accept spending more time on the bench or stepping down a level or two and playing for a MLS team or something along with a paycut.

He's pathetic.

Its all strategy so he can leave in January. I agree he´s a narcissist but most elite footballers are. I also agree with him about Ten Hag.

Some just don't want to let go of the admiration and attention. Most are young enough after they retire to start new careers, enjoy life or just disappear altogether from the public eye and like a completely normal life. Sadly their egos are so big it's hard for them to leave the spotlight. Many actors are the same way. Look at George Clooney. Lol
